Dr. Takako Miyamae is a Pediatric Rheumatologist and an Associate Professor at the Institute of Rheumatology, Tokyo Women’s Medical University, Japan. Her clinical expertise includes juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and autoinflammatory diseases. She served as President of the Pediatric Rheumatology Association of Japan (PRAJ) from 2021 to 2025.
Her research focuses on translational and clinical studies in childhood-onset rheumatic diseases, with particular emphasis on multi-omics analyses in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM).
Dr. Miyamae has played a central role in developing national and international clinical practice guidelines and consensus initiatives in pediatric rheumatology. She currently chairs transition-related committees within both the Japanese College of Rheumatology (JCR) and the PRAJ, where she leads efforts to advance pediatric-to-adult transition care and to implement telemedicine in rheumatology practice.
