    Professor Jacob Ablin is a physician specializing in internal medicine and rheumatology. He serves as Director of Internal Medicine Department H at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center in Israel and is a faculty member at the Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Tel Aviv University.
    His academic work focuses on fibromyalgia and nociplastic pain, with an emphasis on clinical characterization, underlying mechanisms, and implications for diagnosis and management. His research interests include epidemiology, sleep and circadian biology, brain imaging, and the psychosocial and environmental determinants of chronic pain. Professor Ablin has participated in international collaborative efforts to refine the framework and classification of nociplastic pain within rheumatology.
    He has authored peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and clinical reviews, and serves as a reviewer for several journals in rheumatology and pain medicine. Professor Ablin is a member of the Steering Committee of the Israeli Rheumatology Association and is involved in multiple national and international research collaborations that integrate clinical, behavioral, and imaging-based approaches to the study of chronic pain.
    Professor Ablin is the organizer of Controversies in Fibromyalgia, a biennial scientific meeting that brings together experts from multiple disciplines to discuss current evidence, differing viewpoints, and areas of uncertainty in fibromyalgia research and clinical care.
    In parallel with his research activities, Professor Ablin is active in medical education. He leads competency-based medical education initiatives in his department and teaches medical students, residents, and allied health professionals, with attention to clinical reasoning and the practical integration of emerging concepts in pain physiology into routine clinical work.
