Dr. Beom-Jun Kim received his M.D., M.S., and Ph.D. from the University of Ulsan College of Medicine, South Korea. He completed his internship, residency in internal medicine, and clinical fellowship in endocrinology at Asan Medical Center. He subsequently joined the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Asan Medical Center, where he served as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor, and he currently holds a tenured position as Full Professor. His early research focused on identifying therapeutic targets for osteoporosis through basic and translational approaches. Over time, his interests have expanded to include sarcopenia, frailty, and the biology of aging. His research spans the full spectrum from basic science to translational and clinical studies, with a particular emphasis on discovering blood-based biomarkers and novel therapeutic targets to promote healthy aging in older adults. Dr. Kim has published extensively in international journals and holds numerous domestic and international patents related to musculoskeletal and aging research. He is actively involved in collaborative, multidisciplinary studies and remains committed to advancing the field of endocrine aging through integrative research.
