  • Yoshiya Tanaka, MD, PhD, MACR is Distinguished Professor of the Department of Molecular Targeted Therapeutics, School of Medicine, University of Occupational and Environmental Health, Japan (2025-present). He was Professor and Chairman of the First Department of Internal Medicine (2000-2025) and Dean of Graduate School of Medical Science (2017-2024) of the University. His scientific focus lies on pathological mechanisms and development of novel molecular targeted therapies and treatment strategies in systemic autoimmune diseases. His extensive research portfolio includes over 1,105 peer-reviewed publications in English, with a total impact factor exceeding 6,600 and an h-index of 117. He is the president of JCR (Japan College of Rheumatology), president of JSCI (Japan Society of Clinical Immunology), president of APLAR 2025 and board member of many societies. He is also an associate editor of Arthritis & Rheumatology, RMD Open, Rheumatology, Cytokine, AR&T, IJRD and many, an emeritus editor of MRCR, and an editorial board member of ARD, MR, etc. He has received numerous awards from JSBMR, JCR and EULAR, including honorary award from EULAR in 2023 and ACR Master in 2025.
